Kasturba Medical College, Manipal

KMC (Kasturba Medical College) is located at Manipal and it all started on 30 June 1953. It was started with only pre medical section and the student’s needs to go to Mangalore for their important medical training. In the year 1969, Kasturba Medical College started its own medical training and since then it became completely independent college.

KMC is the only medical college, which is in hand of private players and ranks among the top five medical colleges in the country. Its degree is recognized universally and students from more than 44 countries have been graduated from the college since its inception. Its first academic session started in the year 1958, under Medical council of India supervision. The college offers immense facility to conduct research work to its eminent faculty members and scholars. Over the years, the college has shown tremendous growth in the standard of teaching and research work. It has 200 acre of land and provides one of the best environment for study in south Asia.

Student seeking admission in Kasturba Medical College must pass 10+2 with Biology, Physics, Chemistry and English with minimum 50% marks scored in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Aspirants need to appear in all India under graduate entrance test conducted by MAHE (Manipal Academy of Higher Education). Applicants scoring more than 50% in the entrance test might get an opportunity of getting admission at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal.

Any candidate seeking admission to become MD or MS must have MBBS or equivalent degree from any recognized medical council of India or abroad. Candidate who did MBBS from MAHE are given slight privilege over others.  Admissions are done purely based on rank obtained by the candidate in ENAT (EPSI National Admission Test).  Kasturba Medical College provides great facility to its students in terms of library, laboratory, health care facilities and extra curriculum activities.
