King George Medical University, Lucknow

It has always been a pioneer medical college among many medical education institutions in the country. It was appeared by an act passed by the Government of Uttar Pradesh on 16 September 2002.  The college was shifted under a new university, called the Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University.  The institution is committed towards dissemination and advancement of knowledge in biomedical science. It has establishes itself as a centre of excellence in tertiary level health care.In the year 1911, King George Medical College appeared as another eminent medical college in the country. King George Medical College has always been among the list of best medical education in the country.

The Medical University is located in the center part of Lucknow, which is also the capital city of Uttar Pradesh. University campus has 100000 sq. meters.  From Charbagh Railway Station it is just 5 km away. Every transport system connects the university. The campus consists of various departments namely Surgery, Psychiatry, Plastic Surgery, Geriatric Mental Health, Chest Medicine, Pharmacology, Opthalmology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Surgery, Pathology, Obstetrics & Gynecology and many more.

The original administrative premises have Seminar Hall, Vice Chancellor's Office, KGMCICE, Clinical Epidemiology Unit, Examination Hall and Convocation Hall. Very recently, a new administrative building came up with Finance Office, Undergraduate and Postgraduate Cells, Examination Cell, Registrar's Office, Computer center etc.

King George Hospital is associated with the college and it well known for its excellent treatment at very reasonable cost. The hospital consist departments of Otorhinolarygology, Radiodiagnosis and Radiotherapy, Orthopedic Surgery besides general and private wards. Gandhi ward is a three-floor building consists of general wards. The hospital provides services in all medical and surgical exigencies.
