St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore started in the year 1963. Catholic Bishops Conference of India gives an idea for establishing a medical college in the garden city, Bangalore. Gradually, St. John’s Medical College arrives in the top medical colleges in the country.  NAAC, a review committee of UGC provided the college and hospital with five star grade, given approvals to offer their own degree and conduct their own admission policies. The college offers postgraduate, diploma, graduate and specialization degrees. (RGUHS) Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, affiliates the college. The motto of the college is to train medical professionals, especially for the people who belongs to underserved region of the country.
