The Madras Medical College is evaluated amongst best medical colleges of India and is situated in Chennai in India. This apex medical college was established on February 2, 1835. In 1996, name of this college was changed to Chennai Medical College but due to its worldwide popularity, it was again replaced with the older name as the Madras Medical College in Chennai. There are 84 departments existing in this medical college. At the Madras Medical College in Chennai, the Medical students are given with 80 prizes and medals each year and the Johnstone medal is most prestigious one amongst them.
