In 1914 at the time of 2ndworld war lady Hardinge laid down the foundation of an educational institute for the service to Delhi. In the 7-2-1916 Lady Hardinge Medical College was established by Charles Hardinge. It offers various courses related to medical sciences. The college has well qualified and excellent faculty members to provide excellent concepts to its students so that they get complete knowledge in each and every subject. The main aim of college is to focus to provide quality education to the student.They got affiliation in 1950 from Delhi University but for post graduation courses were affiliated in 1954 with Punjab University. But after 1956 this post graduation courses were affiliated to Delhi education. The medical college offers courses are MBBS, MD and MS.
Eligibility for MBBS admission:
Candidate should complete 10+2 in science stream with physics, chemistry and biology. The medical college conducts Delhi pre medical Entrance examination. Student should have 50 % marks in 12th examination and ST, SC candidate 40 % and OBC candidate 45 % marks in PCB and one selective subject. and age limit is 17 years as on 31st DEC of the year of admission.
Admission will be done on the basis of score obtained by the candidate in Delhi pre medical entrance test. MBBS course is 4 1/2 years and internship of one year. The MBBS degree awarded by LHMC which is recognised by MCI.
The total admission capacity for MBBS is 150 students. Seats are filled through entrance examination is 15 % and unreserved seats are 55 students. For SC candidate 15 %, For ST candidate 7.5 % and 27 % for OBC category. For handicapped students reserved seats are 3 %. Admission notification is generally released in February month.
