Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research in MBBS

The actual name of this Institute is Ecole de Medicine de Pondicherry it was build up by French Government in 1823. Then the Indian Government over took this institute and renamed it to Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research in 1956. This institute is the oldest institute in India. Jawaharlal Institute has a huge 192 acres of campus. It accommodates nearly 200 faculties and over 3,000 nursing and administrative staff. It opens their admission every year and only accommodates 100 undergraduates and nearly 75 postgraduate’s candidates. It consists of 300 experienced teachers and more than 565 doctors. The annual budget allocated to the government of India in year 2000 to 2008 was Rs.155.24 corers and in year 200 to 2009 was across 160.76 corers. It is located in Pondicherry which in Tamil Nadu.

Eligibility Criteria for JIPMER in MBBS: 

The student who is willing to go for MBBS must have a study pattern as 10+2 and should take the subjects like English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics with at least 50% marks in PCB and 40% marks in SC/ST.

Availability of Seats for Entrance Exam: 

As the seats are limited the candidates has to work hard to get the admission for their interested course. All candidates must score good marks then only they are allowed to sit for a counseling program conducted by JIPGMER.

Pattern of Examination: 

The entrance exam is of 200 marks and consist question on the following subjects like Chemistry, English, Physics, Botany and Zoology. Each question will have four options and this type of exams doesn’t have negative marking.
